StorIce specializes in backup. We are an online backup service provider, data is backed up using advanced encryption an compression, only changes from last backup are needed using differential backup technology that will back up changes with in an single file.

The data is backed up onto disk arrays in our secure facility located in the vicinity of Hofn in the SE part of Iceland. Our facility is powered with environmentally friendly sustainable hydro electricity, except in event of major power failures when our diesel generators power the facility. Our facility is run on high security basis with physical and electronic security in place. The facility is designed from ground up for maximum continuity and security, were there is nothing except our equipment in there, offices and management are in different location.

All customer data is encrypted at source using 256DES encryption key that is generated in the first installation at customers site, that ensures that only the data owner can access them.

In our data center all design is for maximum possible redundancy of equipment in order to eliminate as possible single point of failure.

If requested data can be replicated to other data centers either in Iceland or elsewhere in the world.

We have the capability of storing disk images of servers or any desired computers that can be updated periodically in fully automated manner.

We have the capability to forward restore data to another location i.e. to an spare server that can either be hosted at any of our affiliates or anywhere connected to the internet, this can provide recovery in matter of minutes in the case of an catastrophic event.
